The Ninth Prophecy
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
The Ninth Prophecy is a small Unreal Engine 4 project that I developed while learning to program. The aim of the project was to develop an interactive game using experimental game mechanics. This project explores the way players interact with high stakes games while managing their own light sources.
Some of the experimental mechanics present in the game are:
- Glow Sticks – Players must periodically toss glow sticks to light the arena and in tern see oncoming enemies.
- Lanterns – Players can anchor themselves by lanterns that provide a constant source of light.
- Glow Stick Turrets – Slaying zombies has a chance to turn them into a Glow Stick Turret that periodically tosses a Glow Stick in a random direction. Beware, accidentally shooting a Glow Stick Turret result in its demise.
- Curing – Slaying zombies has a chance to cure them and return them to the battlefield as close-ranged allies.
- The Element of Surprise – A controversial mechanic that increases the chance that a zombie will appear directly behind the player without warning. This mechanic was incorporated to force players to coat their surroundings with light or face the consequence through jump scares.

I played this game and its pretty cool. I like how when you make the enemies hp to white there is a chance for them to help you instead by becoming another soldier or a light stick dispenser. Really cool mechanics and fun gameplay overall. Nice job :)
